MIL-M-60144A(MU)
3.5 Environmental.
3.5.1
Storage temPerature.- T h e control motor shall meet the per-
formance requirements of 3.5 at 60° to 90° Fahrenheit (F) after being
.
subjected to ambient temperatures at -80° and at +160°F.
3 . 5 . 2 O p e r a t i n g temPerature.- T h e control motor shall meet the
p e r f o r m a n c e requirements of 3.6 while exposed to temperatures at -40° and
a t +150° Fahrenheit (F).
3 . 5 . 3 A l t i t u d e . - T h e control motor shall meet the performance re-
q u i r e m e n t s of 3.6 at an altitude of 30,000 feet. above sea level.
3.5.4 Shock.- The control motor shall withstand impact shocks up
to 15 G's, each shock impulse having a time duration of 11 + 1 milliseconds.
Subsequently, the control motor shall meet the performance requirements of
3.6.
T h e control motor shall meet the performance re-
3.5.5 Vibration.-
quirements of 3.6 after being subjected to vibrations up to 5 G's over a
frequency range of 5 to 500 cycles per second.

Performance.
3 . 6 . 1 T o r q u e s e n s i t i v i t y . - T h e control motor shall develop a tor-
q u e of 0.31 pound-foot (lb-ft) +15% per ampere of driving current.
3 . 6 . 2 T o r q u e l i n e a r i t y . - The values of torque on the torque-current
c h a r a c t e r i s t i c line shall not deviate more than 5% from the most linear
portion between O and 0.65 lb-ft.
3.6.3 Torque variation (ripple).- The torque sensitivity (lb-ft
per ampere) shall be within 6% of its average value specified in 3.6.1
over one revolution of the armature.
3 . 6 . 4 F r i c t i o n t o r q u e . - The breakaway torque under which motion of
the armature occurs shall be less than .014 pound-foot.
torque volts-amPeres.- The nominal voltage and rated
3.6.5 Peak
amperes required to generate full motor torque at 150°F shall be 28.2 Vdc
and 2.74 amperes, respectively, at a duty cycle of 33%.
3.7 Radio interference suPPression.- Interference control require-
ments shall be in accordance with MIL-I-6181.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
4 . 1 R e s p o n s i b i l i t y f o r i n s p e c t i o n . - U n l e s s otherwise specified in
the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the per-
f o r m a n c e of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as
otherwise specified; the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any
cOmmercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. The Government re-
s e r v e s the fight to perform any of the inspections set forth in the
specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies
and services conform to prescribed requirements.
